JOE COHEN FILMS is an award winning multi-disciplinary film studio working across documentaries, shorts, advertising, fashion and dance. Projects include working with renowned choreographer Michael Clark on a triptych installation that was screened at the Serpentine Gallery, the National Museum of Scotland, the Barbican, Centre Pompidou and Corso Como Milan. Other projects have included producing and directing short documentaries for i-D magazine, the artist Ugo Rondinone for Eva Presenhuber Gallery, Haider Ackermann and Tilda Swinton for Mercedes Benz, as well as producing and directing short advertising documentaries for MoMA's main spring and summer exhibitions.  

Producer and Director, Joe Cohen, has worked in the UK independent television sector for Leopard Films and TwoFour Broadcast, developing documentary series for the BBC, Channel 4, ITV and Sky networks. He trained at the UK National Film and Television School (NFTS) after which he was selected as an emerging director for the Berlinale talent campus. His entry film Stepping Out was in official selection at the London Short Film Festival, ReelOut Canada, and was nominated for the documentary award at the Rushes Soho Shorts Film Festival. His most recent film Above the Troubled Water screened at over 25 film festivals, including Portland Film Festival, Cinema St Louis, OutFest Miami and BFI Flare London. It has won 6 Best Short Documentary Awards, including a nomination for Best Original Score at the ISFMF.
